Two corridors into one port
- Dar es Salaam corridor
- From the Copperbelt by truck through Kasumbalesa, Kapiri Mposhi and the Tunduma–Nakonde border, or by the TAZARA railway from Kapiri Mposhi. A rehabilitation of TAZARA with Chinese financing was agreed in 2024.
- Central Corridor
- From Rwanda, Burundi and eastern DRC by road to Dar es Salaam, with Tanzania's new standard-gauge railway being built westward. Most Rwandan tin, tantalum and tungsten concentrate leaves this way.

What to plan for
- Truck queues at borders can add days; allow for them in delivery windows.
- Tin, tantalum and tungsten need traceability tags and OECD-aligned due diligence from mine to port — see 3TG rules.
- Container and break-bulk options both exist; confirm with the forwarder for your cargo size.
